SECURITY
Our regular security service is Alliance Security, who provides a presence at 1 W 29 St lobby on a regular basis. We add more security on demand for events and other needs, plus a higher level of security on Sundays with another firm. John McHugh manages the guards with the Alliance Firm. Rick Harper manages the Level 2 Security on Sundays.
The Guards will politely acknowledge/greet each visitor upon entry.
Receptionists may initiate introductions to staff and board members when appropriate.
When faced with a disruptive individual, the guards job is to diffuse the situation and
encourage the individual to go outside. Guards are not allowed to physically remove or
touch anyone unless they pose a direct threat to anyone including the guard. If
the situation gets out of hand, DO NOT HESITATE TO CALL 911
Security schedule (this schedule changes due to church needs)
Mon - Thursday, 11am-7pm
Friday and Saturday Off
Sundays 8am-4pm
Since the guards survey multiple security cameras at their station, we discourage distracting them from their duty. Surveillance and a careful monitoring of the lobby is critical to the security of the building. The door at 1 West lobby is closed most of the day and available for visitors by ringing the doorbell outside. The bell can be answered by voice by a maintenance person on duty. They can see and hear the visitor and chat with them remotely, but have to open the door manually.
