GUIDELINES FOR PASTORAL CARE COVERAGE

Weekday pastoral phone calls: Please transfer to Judy on ext. 405.

In the case of an emergency, if Judy is not available, transfer to the covering minister. If Judy or a

minister is not available, get the caller's name, contact info (phone & email), get a brief description of the

request and email Judy and the ministers. Also leave a message on the covering minister's cell phone.

Please do not give out the cell phone numbers.

Please get full name and date of death and email Judy and

ministers the information.

Transfer to Judy's voice mail.

Transfer calls to Judy up until 5:00 on Fridays.

Please explain to the caller that we will get a message to the Ministers and try to get

the name on the Pulpit prayer List, and we will be sure to include the name in the Prayer Circle prayers.

Please write down the Prayer request on a slip of paper and put the prayers in an envelope to be picked

up by the Prayer Circle Leader on Sunday morning for Prayer Circle.

Receptionist should email the ministors, and copy Judy with the individual's name, phone numbers, and brief description of need.

If a minister is not available, ask individual to call during regular hours to make an appointment;

If it is an emergency, and a minister is not available, tell the individual you will be sure to contact one of

the ministers and leave a message. Please then leave a message on both the minister's extension and

cell phone - Please do not give out minister's cell phone numbers.

If a minister is not available, give out one of the Resource sheets found at reception or print from a page in this website.

If they wish, they can pray in the Prayer Room for 15 minutes.

If they still want to speak to someone, have them wait in the Prayer Room. Call the covering minister.

If there is a problem enlist the assistance of the guard.

We do not give out money, but in a few cases, at the minister's discretion, we can give the individual a

round-trip metro card, and food.
